Marielena Zendejas, Co-Owner

Marielena Zendejas, co-founder of Camp WAO, embodies the spirit of transformation and conservation. Her passion for the outdoors and her deep commitment to nature conservation are at the heart of Camp WAO's ethos. Marielena believes in the healing and transformative power of nature and is dedicated to creating experiences that not only allow individuals to connect deeply with the natural world but also inspire them to protect and preserve it. Marielena's vision for Camp WAO is a sanctuary where guests can explore and play in nature, fostering personal growth and a greater appreciation for the environment. Through her work, she aims to heal both people and the planet, one retreat at a time.

Alethea Jimison, Co-Owner

Alethea Jimison, co-owner of Camp WAO, combines her passion for community, wellness, and the arts to create a unique retreat experience in Central Texas. With a rich background in creative writing and a profound commitment to holistic living, Alethea brings a visionary approach to Camp WAO. Her journey, marked by personal growth and a dedication to fostering environments where individuals can explore their potential, reflects in every aspect of Camp WAO. Alongside her wife, Marielena Zendejas, Alethea aims to offer retreats that not only rejuvenate the body and mind but also inspire the soul, making Camp WAO a haven for those seeking a deeper connection with nature, art, and community.

Future Team Member: Onsite Handyman/woman

Camp WAO is currently in a development phase. As we continue to grow, we will begin looking for a skilled Handyman/Woman to join our team, offering a unique opportunity to live and work in onsite. This opportunity is ideal for those who can bring their own tiny home or RV, with utilities setup provided. We are looking for someone with a passion for sustainable living and cooperative work environment. While we're not ready to hire at this time, please feel free to send your resume to be considered for this integral role in maintaining our retreat's beauty and functionality.

Future Team Member: Onsite Counselor/Event Coordinator

In the near future, Camp WAO will be seeking an Onsite Counselor/Event Coordinator to enrich our community and events. This role is perfect for individuals with a background in counseling/coaching or event planning. You will be given the chance to live onsite in your own RV or tiny home investment. Join us in creating transformative experiences for our guests. If you're a team player interested in cooperative living, please send your resume. Although, we're not filling this role now, we will still give you a call to talk about our vision and see if it's a great opportunity for everyone.
